BREXIT VULNERABILITY MAP

Large parts of Highland Perthshire are among those places at greatest risk from the impact of Brexit, according to a Scottish Government analysis. An interactive map breaks Scotland down into seven thousand geographical units called datazones, which identify areas most at risk from Brexit itself and a no-deal scenario. Factors include access to services, the proportion of population of working age, workers in Brexit-sensitive industries, EU worker migration and how many EU payments are received. Among areas identified as most at risk are Rannoch and Aberfeldy, Blair Atholl, Strathardle and Glenshee, and North Muirton and Old Scone. Aileen Campbell, the communities secretary, said they always knew Brexit cold be damaging to Scotland but the analysis laid bare how vulnerable communities across the country are.
