A Norwegian inspired cycling scheme is to be introduced across Scotland after a trial in Falkirk was highly successful. The scheme, Cycling Without Age (CWA) is aimed at those from the older generation with mobility issues or those who are socially icolated allowing them to get out and about in the local area. Young volunteers with pedal 'trishaw' style bikes that take 2 adults in them allowing people to meet up with friends and build social bonds.
Set to be introduced throughout multiple Scottish council areas the scheme will initially begin in Perth and Kinross, East Lothian, Falkirk, Highlands and Islands and Borders.
