Vinyl Frontier

On the Vinyl Frontier this week on Heartland FM (17 & 20 Nov @ 7pm): We’ve 3 tracks from “Back To Sardinia”, the brand new album from celebrated Hungarian group Djabe and acclaimed solo musician and former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett released on 6 December on the Esoteric Antenna label. We’ve vintage tunes from The Shadows & The Beatles, the new single from Derange, melodic rock from German band Craaft and a 19 minute Long Un from Canadian band Mystery. There’s prog rock from Warmrain’s 2019 debut album “Back Among The Clouds” and Credo’s 2011 album “Against Reason” and some extraordinary violin playing from ex-Trans-Siberian Orchestra member Mark Wood. Plus there’s fine tunes from Glenn Frey, George Harrison, TRex, Abba, The Police & Journey.

So join me, Ian Moyes, on Sunday & Wednesday at 7pm or if you miss the programme, use our new “Listen Again” service at heartlandfm.org. Either way, I’ll look forward to your company.

Ian Moyes

Wednesday & Sunday 7pm-9pm

Ian Moyes has been a presenter with Heartland FM since it began in 1992. Over the years he has presented programmes about the arts, the blues, rock and, in the early years, the Sunday chart show. For the past 10 years he has been spinning vinyl in the 2 hour show The Vinyl Frontier. As well as delving into his collection from the vinyl era the show also features new music from the Prog Rock genre. There really is something for everyone so give it a listen.
